BoBo!!

We don't have many pictures of Addy and her bobo because it only goes three places {1} her crib {2} the car {3} her crib at MiMis, that's it only those three places most of the time. I snapped some pictures of Addy with her beloved the other day when she got up from her nap.

She loves her bobo and I am very very scared to think of the day we have to {talking quietly} get.rid.of.the.bobo. At her 12 month appt. the nurse practioner suggested getting rid of the bottle and then work on the bobo "as soon as possible". The bottle has been gone since a week after that appointment, the bobo is still around.

With every change we have thrown at Addy she has done amazing. I was thinking that maybe, just maybe getting rid of the bobo will be as easy as every other change. But then I really started thinking about the changes...moving from the snuggle nest to the pack and play {easy}, switching from a swaddled 6 month old to a sleep sacked 6 month old {easy}, moving from her pack and play to her crib {easy},taking naps in her crib {easy} going down at night {easy}, weaning from the bottle {easy}, going from a sleep sacked 12 month old to a free as a bird 12 month old {easy} and then it hit me...all of these changes were easy and I mean really easy because.....she has her BOBO!

She has loved her bobo since the day she was born...

What in the world are we going to do when we have to lose the bobo?!?

Being Helpful...

or at least she thinks she is ;)

When we got back from the grocery store today Addy decided to "help" us put our groceries away.

She was too cute "helping" but a few things ended up in the wrong place. She had Ritz and Oreos in the fridge and she was taking ice cream out of the freezer.

And this photo speaks for itself...

{if it didn't speak to you...it was saying "Garth and Lauren drink way too much Coke."}

In case you were wondering...
no, it isn't open
no, she has never had a Coke
yes, we must drink it in front of her so much that she knows what to do with the can
or she is just really smart!!!
and yes, about 5 minutes after I took this photo the Coke fell and landed on her foot. That is the screaming you heard all the way at your house!

March

It's March already. This time last year I was getting ready to go back to school (March 8th). Lots had changed in the last year.
I was thinking tonight how much Addy loves books now. Up until a few weeks ago books were just something she throw around, daddy put in front of her a bedtime, and something she could take or leave.
Now we have favorite books, books we have to read over and over, books that Garth has memorized, books that calm her just by hearing the words, books that must be read before bed. I don't know what it is that makes her love them now but she does and I couldn't be happier. Her favorites are Noisy Farm, I Know a Rhino, and Barnyard Dance. Noisy Farm was the first book that she really loved (puffy heart read over and over type of love). It is a flip book about animal sounds. She learned her animal sounds from that book and then moved on. I Know a Rhino was the next book she fell in love with. It a super cute book that I don't mind hearing 10 times each night. It's the book that Garth recited on the way home tonight from dinner and just hearing the words calmed her down (since mommy forgot a bobo). Tonight she didn't sign more.more.more or please.please.please when she saw the book because I think her new love is going to be Barnyard Dance. Who wouldn't love a book with all of your favorite animals making noise and dancing?

What else does a girl need...a cup of milk, a bobo and a favortie book.

{2.14.08}

Okay...she did need a little help from Mommy and Daddy. Yeah she stuck her hands in A LOT...so...if you happened to have the chance to eat one...SORRY ;)

Eating

Addy Mac has mastered using a fork and spork (well as much as a one year old can!) She loves using a spoon or spork, a combo of a spoon and a fork ;), to eat everything. She tries so hard to stick her spork into whatever it might be that she is eating. It doesn't usually work so she will hold the spork and use her pincher grip to pick up the allusive piece of food..it's too cute!!

Here are some pictures of Addy eating yogurt the other day.

Yeah, she also uses a spork to eat yogurt!

Wow!

November third was the last time I posted about my baby...YIKES!

This is a great place to document Addy's life so that we can remember what has been going on and lots has changed in the last 3 months...
-my baby turned one!
-we had a huge bash for that very special one year old birthday!
-she has hair!
-she can run!
-we stared going to My Little Gym!
-she found a boyfriend at Little Gym! His name is Jack! It was a short romance but still a very cute one.
-she can use a spoon to eat food, most of it makes it into her mouth!
-she is getting her one year molars and she has been wonderful! I never would have know they were coming in.
-mommy and daddy went out for the first and second time since Addy was born. The first time we went to my school christmas party. We left and came back a hour later (it still counts!) and the second time...well she didn't know we were gone!
-oh can she talk! Momma, Dada, cat, what that, what this,
-she can sign! Thank you, more, all done, please, help.
-she can answer questions! "What does a cow say?" "Mmmmmm" "What does a red rooster say?" "cock" (that's a nice one!) Just to name a few
-she loves farm animals and books about farm animals
-her favorite animals are cats, and quacks (aka ducks!)

I am sure there is a lot more...I will have to keep thinking!

I think for our little family I need to continue to blog so that we can look back and have memories on paper! I can always "slurp" it and make a Blurb book later on!
