Slow Down!

Summer is going way too fast. I wish I could slow down the days, remember every second, sit and hold my babies, play and play and play. I love being home with my babies and I am already dreading going back to work. I love my girls and the fact that for 10 weeks a year I get to be a stay at home mom. I'm thankful that I have a job that allows me to have this long stretch of time with my girls. If I have to work at least teaching has it's perks!

Some happenings of this week...



Em "helping"!



"Mama, I hear a plane."



Addy packed 2 curling irons in her backpack for our trip to Wal Mart. She was going to take her "class" to Wal Mart and take them to the toy isle. I'm still not sure why she needed the curling irons, maybe she is in cosmetology school!



Addy eating breakfast and watching TV. When your sick your wish is my command! But I do draw the line at eating in the family room. Limits people, limits!



Daddy isn't going to Florida, again, without Em!

On it!

Me: "Addy, can you run upstairs and get some socks for Em?"

Addy: "Sure, Mom, on it!"

Me: {laughing} "What?"

Addy: "I'm on it, Mom!"

Sick.

A summer cold has hit the girls. Being sick means lots of TV watching, couch time, and pretty much doing whatever they want. Addy ate breakfast yesterday sitting at the kitchen counter, with the TV turned so she could watch. I put my foot down at her eating in the living room! We didn't get to go to the Damascus parade last night or our third of four fireworks but it was nice to be at home doing nothing but snuggling. I think I am suppose to be happy that they are sick at the same time...don't people have chicken pox parties to give each other the sickness? No parties here, but we have two sick babies.

100 degrees or more

"Seriously Hot" could have been another title or maybe "Too Hot" or "Get in the Pool". Any of those would work.

We have spent the 100+ degree days in the pool. I think that swimming lesson might be paying off. Addy puts her face in the water, holds her breath, and kicks...that's progress!



Em loves the pool too! And eating of course!

2 down 2 to go!

On the fourth we spent the day swimming, eating and playing! At the
end of the night we went to watch fireworks in Frederick. After lots
of circles and full parking garages we finally found a spot to park
and started walking with the crowds. Addy saw an ice cream truck so we
stopped and waited and waited to get our ice cream. It was really
getting dark and there was no inch of grass to stand on, so we parked
the stroller and Em, sat Addy in her chair, opened up ice creams and
waited. When the fireworks started they were right above us. I don't
think we could have found a better spot to watch!

Next weekend we have 2 more shows! So far Cattail Creek had the best
show'

We went to Cattail Creek last night for the first of four planned
fireworks shows! Addy had 2 snowcones (one strawberry and one orange),
did a spin art, got a puppy tattoo, got a balloon dog and sword, got
another balloon dog...thanks to a very nice daddy who spent most of
his night standing in line again after the first one popped, ate
dinner, and played. Em ate her way around the party...popcorn, dinner,
cookies, watermellon, if someone handed it to her she was eating it.

And of course, we watched an awesome fireworks show! Em and Addy loved
it!
