Addy is in love!

Shhh! Don't tell anyone. Look at Addy's face. I think she is in love.

It's not something new, she has loved him for a long time. But this photo really shows how much she loves playing with him. He can be protective of his toys {the other night he let Addy hold his stuffed dog and he started to follow her around. His mom said "She's fine don't worry." To which he said "I know, I know, I'm just going to follow her around!" :) } but for the most part he loves sharing with the kids, showing them new things {like big green caterpillars} and just being with them. They have had lots of funny together this summer! There faces light up when they see eachother.

Shhh! Don't tell anyone. I think he likes playing with her, too!

First Cone

Okay, so it isn't her first ice cream but it is her first taste of the cone, as in The Jimmie Cone and the first time she has had ice cream in a cone!

Addy's first taste of the cone was a very large cone with swirled ice cream and rainbow jimmies. That cone landed on the ground not even a step from the counter!! :) Her second cone was also a very large swirl cone that never made it to our hands. The nice order girl gave us our third cone which a very small swirled cone that was much more her size!

I would dare say she liked her first taste of the cone!

Baseball!!!

Last night we went to watch the Frederick Keys play the Potomac Nationals! We won the tickets from The Little Gym! I was shocked...I don't think I have ever won anything!

We started the night out by going to have sandwiches and ice cream in downtown Frederick {also free because I got a gift card to downtown from my students!} As we were eating it started to rain and it continued to rain for awhile. When we got to the park they were in a rain delay.

We waited {& waited} in the car.

Finally, the rain stopped, they took the tarp off the field and they played ball!

We really, really had a fun time. The rain was perfect because turned out to be a cool night and we got to enjoy a rainbow!

Addyson was awesome! She loved every minute of the game!
And who wouldn't when you get to...

enjoy a night with Mimi, Momma and Dada...

eat a pretzel and a funnel cake...

meet Keyote {the Keys mascot} and have him sign your very first baseball...

ride the merry-go-round...

and play two games...

We were sad when it was time to go!

We didn't stay for the whole game because it was late and a very slow game. We left around 9:30 and it was only the 5th inning!

We had an awesome time last night!

Ummm...totally forgot to say that the Keys won!

Can't beat that...great company, delicious food, awesome rides & games, and a win!! :)

Tired

That's exactly what Addy was after another trip to Deep Creek!

We had a blast! Beth, Ron, Blake, Brie, Karen, Laynie, Mimi and Grant all came with us last weekend.

When went to the beach both days {along with lots of other things!}. We left the beach right when Addy's nap time usually ends so she was exhausted by the time she hit her car seat.

Exhausted but really really happy! She loved having everyone around last weekend. I still think she was meant to be a little sister! ;)

Happy Anniversary!

Today, Garth and I have been married for 3 years!

I can't believe it has been three years. It seems like just yesterday and it feels like forever ago. A lot has happened in the last three years. They have been the BEST three years of my life!

Unfortunately, Garth had to go on the business trip to Massachusetts so we will be celebrating three years together, 346.1 miles apart :(

But, my man rocks. When Addy and I got home from the library there was a hanging tag on the door. I could tell from the car that it was from Edible Arrangements {yummy!} So we went next door to pick up our treat. Our neighbor came to the door with a huge, and I mean huge, arrangement! Addyson instantly said her tongue twisted version of watermelon. We munched on some fruit before lunch and will probably be munching on fruit for days to come!

Happy Anniversary! I am so thankful to have you has my husband and Addyson's dad! Thank you baby for making our day special even if you are 346.1 miles away. We miss you and love you lots!

Playing

We have spent lots of time in the last week trying to organize, weed out, throw away or store Addy's toys. She has a ton of "baby toys" and she just isn't interested in playing with them anymore. She will pick something up, play with it and put it back down, all within a few seconds or minutes, if were lucky!

Although we really need to buy Addy some new "grown-up" toys, she always seems to find something to play with. She found her new favorite toy while we were at Deep Creek with Mimi. We were all cleaning before we left and Garth had put Addy's sippy cups in a plastic bag and threw them in her diaper bag. Addy found the sippy cups and started to take them apart, put them back together, switch tops, put things inside of them and on and on and on. She loved playing with the sippy cups!

When we got home I got out all the sippys that lost lids or parts and put them in a basket for her to play with. Which, surprisingly, she has been playing with for the last week and loving it!!!

She loves those cups and I love that she likes to play with them and try to figure them out.

The only problem is...

she's getting really good and taking the tops off!! ;)

It has only happened once and it was hysterical. She was playing in the kitchen and I was on the computer. She was talking away, playing and I hear splash and immediately hear her say "no. no. no." I knew what had happened as soon as I heard the splash. When I walked over she was frozen, standing right in the middle of a puddle of milk. She looked at me like what just happened? and slowly walked out of the puddle. Which made her fall flat on her butt in said puddle of milk! Poor baby was hysterically crying and too cute!

I think it is time for us to go and buy some real toys!

Video!

I took a quick video of Addy yesterday morning doing two of my favorite things...

1. Saying "watermelon!" Check out that tongue action!
2. Finishing "Momma loves you..." with "little bug!"

You will also notice in the video that I ask Addy to say "bup." It was my third thing on the list, a few posts down, that I wanted to capture on video but in the last few days "bup" has become "up" :( She's growing up so fast!

To remember...

Addy and I were downstairs cleaning up the basement playroom and she found her Fridge Phonics on the floor. She pressed the song button and it started to sing the ABC song and much to my surprise and started to sing along. A B C D E F G H. Addy sang c and h in the correct spots...I am shocked! Terri and Dave have the same thing on the fridge and Addy must be playing with it there because it has been in our basement, untouched, for awhile. She is too cute and obviously very very smart! ;)

As I started to write this entry she was walking around the living room with the Fridge Phonics and the letter s song on. She was saying "s. s. s. s."

"Helmet!"

We hear that a lot these days.

"Helmet!" "Momma, helmet!" "Dadda, helmet!"

Yesterday she wanted to wear her helmet while she ate breakfast.

Yep, Addy thinks everything is better when you wear a helmet!

It's funny because her helmet is really the first thing we have bought that she has really liked more than someone else's exact same thing.

We bought her a bubble mower because she loved Jo-Jo's. She rarely touches her bubble mower. She and Ben have two of the same cars, Addyson would rather play with Ben's. She loved Jo-Jo and Rian's helmets before and I am surprised that she actually wears hers and doesn't want to put theirs on (like she always did before she had her own).

BIKE

Yes, I am yelling!

Garth and I finally bought Addy her Kettrike {read: really, really awesome tricycle!}. It was waiting for us when we got home, from Little Gym, Target, Walmart, and Chick-Fil-A, on Friday. Addy was thrilled and upset. Thrilled because there was a bike in our living room. Upset because she had to take a nap and I still had to put the bike together.

When she got up the bike was ready {sort of, Garth took it apart and tightened all the bolts after Addy went to sleep}!

Introducing Addy and her new bike...
{warning: really bad photography}

Taking the bike out for the first time...

This is what happens when you try to take the bike from Addy...

Wednesdays

Addy and I are really starting to get the hang of this SAHM thing! We have a routine that is working out awesome and we are truly having the best summer. I know I am loving her second of my time home and I am pretty sure Addy feels the same way!

Our Wednesday activity is to go to the story time at the library. We both have a lot of fun. The do lots of singing, movement activities and of course read books. At the very end they bring out two big tubs filled with toys and the kids dig in. Addy loves this part!

This Wednesday after story time Addy and I went to checkout some books. Addy got two books BooBoo and Peedie.

When Garth asked her about the library tonight Addy said "books!"

Here she is with her beloved books...

After the library we went o visit Mimi, KiKi, RiRi, Blakie, and Bri-Bri. We went to the park, played, ate lunch and did our hair...

In case you can't tell they all have side ponytails!!

Things to remember...

1. When I say "Addy, Momma loves you..." Addy says "little bug!"

2. When Addy wants up she says "bup?"

3. When Addy says watermelon she gets into it. Her tongue curls upside down and twists.

All of which I need to get on video tape!

Deep Creek- take 2

Addy, of course, loved Deep Creek this past weekend! Mimi went with us so Addy really loved Deep Creek.

We had a great time just relaxing and having fun. It's nice to be away from home because you don't have to do anything, no bathrooms to clean, laundry to do, grass to cut. It's a different kind of relaxing...it's almost like you have to relax because there is nothing else to do.

It rained most of the day on Friday so we just hung out at the house, but we did make a trip to Walmart to buy a bike. Addy loves Ben's all terrain vehicle {which Addy calls a bike} so we wanted to buy her one.

Needless to say she likes the bike. She sat like this in the shopping cart while Garth got the car {it was pouring}. The other people in Walmart were laughing and saying she looked so cute. Once we got in the car Addy wanted to "buckle". Which is her new favorite thing to do. Every time we get in the car she makes sure everyone is buckled. "Daddy...buckle?" "Momma...buckle?" "Mimi...buckle?"

We also tried to see the fireworks on Friday but couldn't see the real ones being set off at the ski slopes. We did see some fireworks that were being set off far away and Addy loved them. She kept asking for more. When we were reading books before bed she ran through the whole list to make sure everyone liked the fireworks. She said "Momma like? Daddy like? Mimi like?" over and over. Garth and I were laughing so hard because we couldn't read {or recite, since we forgot all of our books} or sing to her because she continuously asked if everyone liked the fireworks!

When we got up on Saturday it was beautiful. We went to the Adventure park and watched the rafters. Addy loved watching and getting her feet wet.

After that we went to get some sandwiches and headed to the state park. We had a picnic and Addy got to go to the beach. Garth and I didn't bring extra clothes or our bathing suits because we didn't think that she would want to go in very far but we were wrong. Addy marched right down to the water and walked right in. The water was pretty cold but it didn't stop her, she loved loved loved the beach and the water. Garth was completely wet by the time we left. A few people asked if this was the first time she had been to the beach, I guess we had that look...it probably had something to do with the million pictures I was taking. ;)

We also saw a few fireworks that night and the bedtime routine went some the same as the night before!

Sunday we got up, cleaned and headed out. Of course we first stopped at Brenda's before going home...YUMMY!

We had an awesome weekend and Addy did great. And next weekend we are going back...this time with even more of my family! We can't wait!
